Former Bright Stars tactician set to replace Mbalangu at Mbarara City

Former Vipers and Soltilo Bright Stars head coach Paul Kiwanuka is set to be appointed as the new head coach of Mbarara City FC, TheTouchline Sports sources understand.

Kiwanuka will replace Hussein Mbalangu who resigned from his role on Wednesday morning citing unfavourable working conditions

Kiwanuka has been out of work since he left Vipers SC at the end of last season. He has earlier served as an assistant to Fred Kajoba at the venoms before he took over following Kajoba’s departure.

Kiwanuka was also Bright Stars head coach during the 2019/20 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season when the Mwewerwe side finished 12th on the 16-team log.

Mbarara City currently sits 12th on the log with 15 points garnered in 15 games.

If Kiwanuka does joins the Ankole lions, his first task will be a Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 tie against Six O’Clock FC on January 18th.
