Finance Trust Bank Women Super League: Kawempe suffer 2-1 loss at home against She Maroons

On Sunday morning, Finance Trust Bank Women Super League Fans witnessed a complete come-back when Kawempe Muslim were edged 2-1 by She Maroons in their own yard at the Kawempe Muslim Valley Grounds.

Shadia Nabirye broke the deadlock for The hosts as early as the 20th minute to give Kawempe an advantage in the game thanks to Jovia Nakagolo assist.

However Mercy Nabwiire secured an equalizer for the visitors from a well calculated ball by Suzan Nambutye just 6 minutes after restart.

Seven (7) minutes after the hour mark, Immaculate Kizza sealed the win with a wonder shot into the net.

This loss drops Kawempe Muslim to third, still on 25 points level with Amus College who have the same goal difference but scored more goals (20).

For She Maroons, soar to 5th place with 18 points in 13 games.

Despite all things going South for the Valley girls, they received a positive when midfielder Shakira Nyinagahirwa returned from injury.

In their next games, Kawempe Muslim will host winless Wakiso Hill while She Maroons will be away to Lubaga to face Uganda Martyrs on 1st March.

The Finance Trust Women Super League will now take a break for the WAFCON championships and will resume on March 1st.

Other games on the day saw Resty Kobusobozi score the only goal that took Lady Doves past Wakiso Hill who maintain a win drought.
