Express FC came from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against Kitara FC in a closely contested Uganda Premier League encounter at Hamz Stadium on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Kitara took the lead in the 23rd minute through Frank “Zagga” Tumwesigye, who put the visitors ahead after a promising start.
Express responded before the break, with Nicholas Jjonga finding the equaliser on the stroke of halftime to send the two sides into the interval level at 1-1.
Both teams created half-chances in the second half, but neither could produce the decisive finish as the points were shared.
The result leaves Express with four points from their opening four matches of the campaign.
Kitara, meanwhile, are still searching for their first league victory. The Hoima-based side have drawn both of their league matches played so far.
The visitors were also dealt an injury blow during the match, losing forwards Patrick Henry Kaddu and Isaac Amutuhaire.
Their availability will now be closely monitored ahead of Kitara’s CAF Confederation Cup assignment against Egyptian side Al Ahly.
