The Uganda Men’s sevens have lost their quarter finals match, 45-07 to France at the Emirates Invitational 7s first tournament weekend.
After finishing bottom of the Red Pool, Uganda booked a match-up with France at the quarterfinals. France had finished top of the Blue Pool.
With France ranked sixth in the world, Uganda stood no chance as France were quick off the blocks in the first half as they sealed a 31:07 lead at the break. Solomon Okia scored a try with Phillip Wokorach netting the resulting conversion.
France extended their lead in the second half as they ran in two tries to win 45-07 at Full time.
Uganda will now face Canada in the Plate semifinal on Saturday afternoon. Canada narrowly lost out 21-19 to Kenya in the other tournament quarterfinal.
This will be the second meeting between the two sides as they meet in the Red Pool and the North American nation were victorious with a 19-12 win on Friday.
