Vipers SC president Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa has advised FUFA to apply the 75% clause of the FUFA competition rules and regulations and declare the current log leaders, Express FC the champions of the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier league.
Express lead the 16 team log on 58 points, one ahead of second placed URA and two ahead of third placed Vipers after 26 games.
Mulindwa made the remarks at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Monday morning during a press conference telecasted on Sanyuka TV
“Let us to waste alot of time by talking to the government to complete the league. Why are we so desperate to risk lives of the our stakeholders”
” We should be working hard to save live of the stakeholders not to expose then to the pandemic crisis that is killing people”
“FUFA and UPL should not waste time and let them declare Express champions of the league”
If FUFA follows Mulindwa advice, this will be the second time a league champions is declared before the end of the season due to COVID-19.
Vipers SC were declared champions of the 2019-20 season after prematurely cancelled .
