Coronavirus – FUFA suspends all football-related activities


The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has today, the 18th March 2020, suspended all its competitions following the directive from the President of Uganda that moved to call-off all sports activities in the country due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 across the Globe.

The FUFA has thus decided to suspended all its football-related competitions which include the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, the FUFA Big League, the FUFA Juniors League, the FUFA Regional League, the 4th Division League, the 5th Division League, the FUFA Women Super League, the FUFA Women Elite League, the FUFA Uganda Cup, the FUFA Women Cup plus, all authorized competitions with immediate effect.

According to Museveni, the directive to suspend all activities that involve ‘mass gatherings’ is one of the measures put in place to counter the widespread of the Coronavirus pandemic that has eaten up the world so fast.

The President also urges the general public to be vigilant and maintain proper hygiene by washing hands as frequently as necessary and also isolate from society as deemed necessary.
