Striker Ddembe John Paul netted late on in the game to send KCCA to the Cambiasso Rainbow U20 tournament final.
Ddembe’s goal came with just one minute left on the clock to inspire the Kasasiro Boys to a 1-0 victory over Montepellier.
But Ddembe would have to thank Andrew Kawooya who stole the ball from the Montepellier defender to set up the KCCA number 9. Dembe calmly controlled the ball to shot past Phillip Sukhinkh – the Montepellier custodian and into the back of the net.
With the victory, KCCA will face Azam FC in the final who defeated Burundi’s Aiger Nor in the other semi-final.
KCCA’s game with Montepellier was far from entertaining as both sides struggled to create meaningful chances upfront.
Ddembe had KCCA’s only other meaningful goal scoring attempt of the game when he saw his shot saved by Phillip just before the break.
The French side best chances of scoring fell to Axel Gyeguin on two freekick attempts which were parried away by KCCA goalkeeper Abraham Opio.
