CAF Champions League: Mudekereza impress as Vipers earn Mazembe draw

Vipers SC held on to earned a first leg stalemate with TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round game played at St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The Venoms spirited fight was inspired by goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza who was excellent in goal.

One of those notable saves made the Vipers’ Congolese goalkeeper was Meschack Masengo powerful effort which he parried away midway the closing half.

Apart from that attempt, the game was short of chances as both sides struggled upfront coupled with brilliant defending by the venoms.

Vipers head to Congo needing atleast a stalemate with goals to progress to the group stages of Africa’s prestigious continental competition.

A loss for either of the two sides will see them drop to the CAF Confederation Cup playoff round.
