John Luyinda ‘Ayala’ has been officially unveiled as Wakiso Giants new head coach.
Ayala joins purple sharks on a two-year employment contract until June 2024, with an option to extend for a further year.
Ayala, who is a former assistant head coach at KCCA and Police FC (where he worked under Abdallah Mubiru) replaces Alex Gitta who left the purple sharks towards the end of last season.
He will be assisted by Pius Ngabo and goalkeeping coach Richard Kasole.
“It’s a great honour and privilege to be appointed coach of this highly ambitious club and am ready for the huge challenge.” John Luyinda Ayala said after being unveiled at Papo Restaurant in Kampala on Monday.
“In our conversation, I found that we share similar vision and the philosophy of the club especially from last season is one that I believe in as a coach and promise to work hard to develop a team that will be successful.”
Wakiso Giants finished seventh on the log last season with 39 points in 30 games.
They will be playing their fourth season in the top flight league since their promotion from the FUFA Big League.
