Katwe United president and Makindye west Member of Parliament Allan Ssewanyana has entered the race to become the next Federation of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) president.
The development was revealed on Monday morning by Ssewanyana at the Katwe United head offices in Makindye.
” I will present myself as an asiprant for the position of the FUFA president at the next General Assembly” Ssewanyana told journalists before adding;
” I want to make football an enjoyable environment for all the Stakeholders involved in it which the incumbent has failed to achieve”
Ssewanyana’s announcement comes less than a week after the incumbent Moses Magogo confirmed that he would be returning for a third term.
Magogo has been FUFA president since 2013 when he replaced Lawrence Mulindwa who had served Ugandan soccer for eight years.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Ssewanyana have expressed ambitions to take the FUFA main seat as in 2013 elections, his bid was eliminated on technicalities leaving Magogo to win unopposed.
