After unveiling Olivier Osomba earlier on Tuesday, StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have further announced the capture of another Congolese player – Alfred Mudekereza Macumu.
The 29-year old, who is a goalkeeper joins the Venoms on a free transfer after running down his contract at OC Bukavu Dawa in DR Congo.
He has put pen to paper on a three-year employment contract until the end of 2024/25 season.
Macumu also featured for AS Vita between 2014 and 2019 before he joined Bukavu.
“I’m feeling very happy; really happy to be here and to work in this great club and Starr doing my stuff on the pitch as soon as possible,” Macumu told Vipers Media after putting pen to paper.
“I’m very ambitious, l come here to try to win everything, to try to push from the first minute and to make us better.”
“Obviously l want to win more. I come here to fight for all the competitions. We have many competitions ahead – we’re going to fight for everything.”
Macumu becomes the third Congolese player at the StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions, joining Ceasar Manzoki and Olivier Osomba.
He is expected to offer competition to Fabien Mutombora and Denis Kiggundu as the club gears up for the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
