Alex Isabirye returns to URA


After nearly 3 months without an official coaching job, Alex Isabirye has been appointed as the head coach of URA Football club.

Isabirye re joins the tax collectors on a one year contract replacing David Obua who parted ways with the club in mid April this year.

” We are delighted to officially announce the appointment of Alex Isabirye Musongola as our new head coach, signing him on a one year contract”. The club announced in an official statement.

Isabirye led URA to the triumph of their last league title in 2010/2011 season before winning the Uganda cup the following year, 2012.

” We are optimistic that Isabirye’s return will revive our Glory days, with his vast experience and previous success with the team being seen as key aspects”. Said Club CEO, Allan Munaaba.

The 2022/23 double winner tactician at Vipers will handle his first match on 1st June as URA will be facing Kitara fc in the Nakivubo test matches.

The former Bul, Express, Soana, Vipers, Soana, Nyamitobora, Victoria university coach takes over from the caretaker coach, Robert Mukasa who led the club to the eighth position with 40 points.
