AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Micho includes English based goalkeeper in his preliminary squad

Uganda Cranes head coach Micho Sredojevic has named England based goalkeeper Giousue Bellagambi in his preliminary squad of 33 players to start preparations for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

This was confirmed on Sunday evening after Micho named his squad that will take on Algeria and Niger in the AFCON qualifiers next month.

Bellagambi is a Huddersfield Town goalkeeper, a team that features in the English Championship.

The 33 summoned squad also includes 16 local based players who have been playing in the Uganda Premier League.

The players will enter camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisasi on Monday 23rd May 2022 at 8am. The training programme will start 10am using the Fast Fusion Indoor Facility and Gym.

Uganda will take on Algeria on 4th June in Oran before hosting Niger at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on 8th June.
