Uganda were outplayed puting up a 23-3 scoreline in favor of the Kenya Lionesses at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Wednesday evening.
This was a Rugby Africa Women’s Cup Pool B match that acted as a qualifier for 2023 Rugby Africa Cup.
The Lady Rugby Cranes were pressed by the Kenyan Lionesses in their half from the start of the game and it surely looked like Ugandans were tactically off without a reply.

This appeared to be Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes’ top test with flyhalf Grace Adhiambo’s territory doing the best of work for the Kenyan, kicking the ball in order to pin the Ugandans back each time they advanced.
The Ugandan ladies looked lost, loosing the ball on different occasions something that gave more confidence to Dennis Mwanja’s charges, ending the first half 8-0.
After the break, Kenya returned with a bang going on to extend their lead through Adhiambo with a drop goal eight minutes into the half.
Lubambula’s charges got possession into the Kenyan territory unlike the start of the game an action that resulted into a penalty that was accurately converted by Charlotte Mudoola to collect the three points.
The rest of the show was left to the Lionesses as winger Christabel Lindo took full advantage to score at the corner with under 20 minutes to play, Stacy Otieno also came off the bench oly to power over at the stroke of full-time at the posts.
Kenya qualifies for the 2023 Rugby Africa Cup which will act as a qualifier for the first ever 2023 World Women 15’s.
