City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge is a annual tournament that is played every year in Uganda thanks to the well preserved relationship between Uganda Badminton Association and Mandela group of Companies
It’s going to happen for the 7th time, shuttling off this Thursday 17th October 2024 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena having previously been launched at the City Tyres Head Offices in Industrial area along 6th street on Wednesday 18th September.
The tournament will have different categories that include; Corporates, Universities, Schools, Veterans and Expatriates.
However every time a tournament like this is played, Junior players might always look at gaining the tournament bragging rights while professionals look at the bag.
Winners at the 6th Edition in 2023 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Though as a fan this should always get you excited because it will bring out the best in all athletes likewise Shuttlers to be specific in this badminton context who will start their action on Thursday with qualifiers.
So City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge this time round promises a lot on the financial bit most especially with for the Professionals who will get trophies on top of the cash prize as listed below;
In both Men’s and Women’s Singles winners will get 800,oo0/= and Runners up 500,000/= while the Mixed Doubles, Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles will see each winner and Runners Up attract 300,000/=(600,000/= a pair) and 200,000/=(400,000/= a pair) respectively.
Semi-finalists in both Men’s and Women’s Singles will get 300,000/= and 100,000/= on the Doubles bit.
The action will climax on Sunday 20th October 2024 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
