“We have come here to work” – Mandela says after being confirmed new SC Villa President

SC Villa new President Al Hajji Omar Mandela has said him and his committee have come back to work to return the club to where it’s belongs.

Madela was officially been confirmed as the new SC Villa President at the event held at Mandela Sports complex in Industrial area on Saturday morning.

Mandela who was declared unopposed by the club Electoral committee earlier this week after the other aspirant Farouk Mewya failed to meet the prerequisite requirements during the nomination process.

The business man is returning to Villa for the second time, having previously served at the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions as the chairman Administration and Treasurer before resigning from the role in 2004, the same year when the club last won the topflight title.

“We have come here to work and we are ready to work together to return the club to where it belongs.” Mandela briefly stated.

Since Eng.Immanuel Ben Misagga’s resignation as club President in 2018, the giant club has been under the interim leadership of former player William Nkemba.
