Uganda and Kitara striker Denis Omedi is among the candidates for this year’s FIFA Puskas Award after netting a rabona in against KCCA during the FUFA Super 8 quarter-finals on 6 August 2024 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
FIFA announced the nominees for every category of The Best FIFA awards on Friday, including the best overall mens and womens players, the Puskas contenders and the Coach of the Year category.
The Puskas Award is effectively FIFA’s goal of the season award, handed out each year to the scorer of some of the most improbable and spectacular strikes over the previous 12 months.
