JACC: 109 all out (27.3 overs)
Wanderers CC: 85/7 (25.4 overs) – Revised Target: 85 (30 overs)
Wanderers won by 3 wickets (DLS method)
Wanderers Cricket Club secured a nail-biting 3-wicket win over JACC in a rain-affected clash at Jinja SS Cricket Oval, but the victory wasn’t enough to lift them from the relegation zone in Division One of the UCA Men’s 50 Over League.
After electing to bat, JACC struggled to string together meaningful partnerships.
Timothy Kawagunzi’s gritty 34 and skipper Kenneth Waiswa’s quick 22 were the only highlights in a total of 109 all out from 27.3 overs.
Wanderers’ Davis Karashani was outstanding with the ball, taking 5/13 to break the back of JACC’s innings.
Chasing a modest target, Wanderers made a cautious start before rain interrupted play at 1:45 PM.
The game was reduced to 30 overs, with Wanderers handed a revised DLS target of 85.
Despite a stumble in the middle overs, sparked by Henry Ssenyondo’s triple strike, Wanderers held their nerve.
Jaffer Ochaya anchored the innings with a steady 21, while key contributions from the lower order, including a returning Joseph Byaruhanga and Karashani, guided them home in the 26th over.
Karashani was named Player of the Match for his decisive all-round performance.

However, with the team still second-bottom and tied on 8 points with Rounders, Wanderers must win both of their remaining fixtures—against Ceylon Lions next Sunday and Aboojo on August 10—to ensure top-flight survival but they should pray that Rounders and Avengers don’t get results going their way.

In another rain-hit fixture, Tornado Bees overcame Avengers CC by 7 wickets via the DLS method.
Avengers had earlier posted 263/9, anchored by Pius Oloka’s unbeaten 105.
But the Bees responded confidently, reaching 110/2 before rain stopped play.
Set a revised target of 162 in 26 overs, they cruised to victory with four overs to spare, led by Nicholas Kebba (61*) and Jonathan Ssebanja (29*).
In Division Two, Mukono Warriors edged out Ismaili Community CC by 19 runs in a low-scoring thriller.
Defending just 101, Warriors bowled out Ismaili for 82, thanks to a brilliant 5/6 spell from Hardik Donga.
The win boosted Mukono’s playoff hopes in Group B.
