The defending champions Wanderers cricket Club are unlikely to advance from the group as the UG20 group-stage action wraps up this weekend.

They will make a short trip to Njeru to visit inform GM Sugar Cricket Club in group A action.

Here’s how the race for the quarterfinals stands heading into the final round of matches:

🏏 Group A
Position Team Points Scenario
1. GM Sugar (10 pts, NRR +3.50) ✅ Already qualified as group leaders. A win vs Wanderers secures top seeding.
2. Wanderers (10 pts, NRR +2.14) Must win at least one vs GM Sugar to seal qualification. Two losses + Tornado Bee double win = possible elimination.
3. Tornado Bees (7 pts, NRR -0.45) Need to win both vs Budo and hope Wanderers lose twice. Otherwise, third place.
4. Budo (4 pts) Eliminated but can affect qualification with an upset over Tornado Bee.
5. SKLPS (1 pt) Eliminated.
🏏 Group B
Position Team Points Scenario
1. Rounders (12 pts, NRR +0.36) ✅ Qualified. Will finish top unless Aboojo win twice and surpass on NRR.
2. Mukono Warriors (11 pts, NRR +2.79) Likely through. Secure qualification unless Aboojo win both and edge on NRR.
3. Aboojo (9 pts, NRR -0.26) Need two wins over Kutchi Tigers B to reach 13 pts and clinch top spot. One loss = elimination.
4. Nile (4 pts) Out of contention.
5. Kutchi Tigers B (0 pts) Eliminated, but could spoil Aboojo’s playoff hopes.
🏏 Group C
Position Team Points Scenario
1. Avengers (14 pts, NRR +3.59) ✅ Qualified. Likely to top Group C regardless of other results.
2. Ismaili (12 pts, NRR +0.90) Must win at least once to secure qualification. Two losses + JACC double win = elimination.
3. JACC (8 pts, NRR +0.18) Need to beat Tornado and hope Ismaili lose both. Must maintain NRR advantage.
4. Tornado (7 pts) Mathematical chance gone after JACC’s NRR advantage. Playing for pride.
5. Jinja SS (4 pts) Eliminated.
6. Premier (3 pts) Eliminated.
🏏 Group D
Position Team Points Scenario
1. Kutchi Tigers (16 pts, NRR +4.34) ✅ Qualified as group winners — unbeaten campaign.
2. Mukono Development (9 pts, NRR +1.26) Hold second spot but could drop if Ceylon win.
3. Ceylon Lions (7 pts, NRR +3.64) Need a win vs Patidar to move level on points with Mukono Development and qualify on superior NRR.
4. Patidar (4 pts) Eliminated but can spoil Ceylon’s campaign.
