StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions, Vipers Sports Club, have added another exciting talent to their ranks, officially unveiling the signing of Usama Arafat Kiza on a three-year contract.

The 21-year-old winger, widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Ugandan football, joins the Venoms following the expiration of his contract at KCCA FC. His move marks a significant coup for Vipers SC, who continue to strengthen their squad with an eye on both domestic dominance and continental success.

Usama arrives at Kitende with an impressive track record. At KCCA, he consistently lit up the wings with his flair, speed, and sharp eye for goal. In the 2024/25 season alone, he notched up seven goals and six assists in 23 league appearances, building on his 10-goal, six-assist haul from the previous campaign across all competitions.

Beyond club football, Usama has also made waves on the international stage. He captained Uganda’s U-20 team to a historic silver medal at the 2024 All-Africa Games in Accra, a testament to his leadership and ability to perform under pressure. His performances earned him a place in the senior Uganda Cranes squad, where he has already made 11 competitive appearances, including a strong showing at the 2025 CHAN tournament, helping the team reach the quarterfinals.

Usama becomes the seventh signing of a busy transfer window for Vipers SC, joining a list of new arrivals that includes Hney, Chukwuma, Mark Yallah, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Taddeo Lwanga, Ashraf Mandela, and Enock Ssebaggala. This aggressive recruitment drive highlights the club’s intent to build a squad capable of sustained success at home and on the continent.

Speaking after his unveiling, a visibly excited Usama expressed his enthusiasm for the next chapter of his career:

“I am really excited to be joining Vipers SC, one of the top clubs in Uganda. To me, signing for Vipers SC means joining a big football family with ambition and a winning mentality.

“It’s an opportunity to challenge myself at the highest level in Uganda, compete for trophies, and represent the club in continental football. It also means growth for me as a player, gaining more exposure, and contributing to the legacy of a team that has achieved a lot.”

“I am eager to get started, train hard, and make a positive impact for Vipers SC. The support of the fans, the club’s management, and my teammates will be crucial in making this a successful tenure.”

Usama will don his preferred number 27 shirt at Vipers SC and is expected to link up with his new teammates shortly after the club’s upcoming CAF Champions League fixture against Namibia’s African Stars FC this Friday.

With this latest acquisition, Vipers SC have once again demonstrated their ability to attract and nurture top-tier talent. Usama’s arrival not only strengthens their attacking options but also signals their continued commitment to building a formidable squad worthy of both local silverware and continental respect.

As the 2025/26 season approaches, all eyes will be on Usama Arafat to see how quickly he can make his mark in the red of Vipers.
