The final Matchday of the 2020-21 Bundesliga season provided drama until the very end – the last kick of the game in one case!

Robert Lewandowski’s 90th-minute goal against FC Augsburg ensured a record-breaking season for the striker, while the talismanic Max Kruse left it late before scoring to send 1. FC Union Berlin back to European competition for the first time in 20 years.

At the other end of the table, Sebastiaan Bornauw’s header ensured that 1. FC Köln live to fight another day, and now face off against Holstein Kiel in the relegation play-offs. In the Bundesliga 2, it was VfL Bochum 1848 and SpVgg Greuther Fürth that secured promotion to the top-flight after twists and turns throughout the afternoon.
