Match Summary – Game 3

Uganda: 100/6 in 20 overs

Canada: 82 all out in 18.3 overs

Result: Uganda won by 18 runs

Uganda’s Victoria Pearls sealed the 2025 Victoria Series in style, producing a commanding bowling performance to defeat Canada by 18 runs at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The win gave Uganda an unassailable 3–0 lead in the five-match series, continuing their unbeaten run on home soil.

Canada won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping to exploit early morning moisture.

Uganda made one change, bringing in Sarah Tino for Sarah Akiteng.

Their batting, however, started shakily.

Esther Iloku fell to the first ball that she faced, and Immaculate Nakisuuyi followed soon after, leaving Uganda in early trouble.

Janet Mbabazi (20) and Kevin Awino steadied the innings with a gritty 40-run stand, before Terisha Lavia’s precision bowling disrupted their momentum once again.

Proscovia Alako (17) injected some late aggression with two well-timed boundaries, while Stephanie Nampiina’s valuable 24 runs pushed Uganda to 100 for 6 after 20 overs — a total that seemed modest but would soon prove match-winning.

Canada’s bowlers impressed, particularly Lavia, who returned excellent figures of 2 for 10 in four overs.

Vandana Mahajan and Indomatie Goordial also chipped in with key wickets, restricting the hosts effectively.

But Uganda’s bowlers were in no mood to surrender.

Kevin Amuge ignited the defense with two quick wickets in the first over, removing Habeeb Badar for a duck and Achini Perera cheaply.

Canada’s captain, Amarpal Kaur (28), fought valiantly, but lacked support as wickets tumbled regularly.

Amuge’s fiery spell of 3 for 7 in 3.3 overs earned her the Player of the Match accolade, while Ritah Musamali and Consylate Aweko added crucial breakthroughs to bowl Canada out for 82 in 18.3 overs.

Captain Mbabazi hailed the team’s unity: “Our bowlers were disciplined and fearless under pressure. Kevin’s spell set the tone.”

Uganda and Canada will face off again tomorrow at 10:00 AM in Match 4 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
