  • Lugazi FC 1-2 BUL FC

Vipers SC edged UPDF at the Bombo Military Grounds to widen the gap up top on a wet Friday evening.

The result came about after Allan Okello first-half strike was enough to sink the resilient army side,

Okello broke the deadlock just 15 minutes on the clock, striking off a rebound in the box, after UPDF failed to clear their lines.

In the second half with 13 minutes to end the game, Derrick Ndahiro saw a straight red card after a high boot foul on UPDF’s Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte.

However the visitors managed to see out the game with substitute Abubakar Lawal nearly finding the back of the net.

The goal took the attacking midfeilder’s goal tally to 11 for the current campaign, as he leads the chase for the golden boot.

At the top, the Venoms widen the gap to 31 points, four clear off second placed NEC FC, who will take on Mbarara City FC on Saturday.

In their next games, Vipers will return to action on Monday as they host Maroons FC in Kitende floodlights whereas UPDF at home again take on Express.

The other game on the day saw Lugazi FC lose their second consecutive game late on with a 1-2 result to tenants BUL FC.

With the first half ending one-all, after Isaac Waigoina netted for BUL early on just 23 minutes into the game, Abdul Kalanzi levelled matters seven past the hour mark before the former Express man completed his brace to win it for tenants two past the 90 mark.
