  • URA 0-2 Vipers

Vipers SC vipers moved top of the table for the first time this season after a 2:0 away win against URA FC at the Hamz stadium with goals from Milton Kariisa and a rare Allan Okello header.

The venoms are now on 20 points, one ahead of second placed NEC FC.

It was a silent first half but Yunus Sentamu almost gave vipers the lead 10minutes into the second half but Denis Otim made the save, this was Yunus’ last touch of the game before he made way for Kenneth Kimera whose impact was immediate.

A goal and an assist for Vipers’ captain Milton Kariisa who drew first blood in the 56th minute with a checky finish to beat Otim at the near post, the venoms doubled their lead five minutes after the hour mark.

Allan Okello started off a fine run inside his own half, passed wide to Kariisa who returned the favour, setting up Okello, the shortest player on the pitch to node home past the tallest player on the pitch Joshua Lubwama.

These two almost teamed up to create vipers third with a beautiful one two inside the box but l Abubaker Lawal who had just been subbed on saw his header saved by Otim.

This is Alex Isabirye’s second consecutive loss, fourth of the season and now leaves the side 10th on the table with 11 points, next week on Wednesday 27th they’ll look to redeem themselves with an away trip to Wakiso giants.
