KCCA Old Boys, Muzamiru Mutyaba and Paul Micureezi combined and ended their former side’s unbeaten run in the league with a 1-0 win at Lugogo on Thursday.

Mutyaba struck the ball past Anthony Emojong as early as the 21st minute after receiving a beautiful pass from Mucureezi to send NEC into defensive mode.

A respectful Mutyaba shunning down goal celebrations after scoring against former pay masters.

With their lives, NEC valiantly defended their goal but more of the credit was genuinely accorded to shot stopper Hannington Sewalunyo who saved three brilliant efforts from Saidi Mayanja, Sadat Anaku and Usama Arafat all after the hour mark.

Despite both KCCA and NEC using the MTN Omondi Stadium with none losing a home match, it was the Kasasiro boys day to taste the waters with their first season loss.

This result meant NEC go to the top of the Uganda Premier League with 19 points, one ahead of KCCA.

In their next games, KCCA visit Lugazi FC in Najjembe on Saturday 30th November while NEC host SC Villa in Lugogo a day before.
