Substitute Conrad Ssenjogera ran the show at the new Hamz stadium with a brace as Express fought from a goal down to edge Bright stars on Thursday evening.
Bright stars opened the score as early as the 6th minute through Ashraf Mulindi to send Express fans into disappointment.
Going into the halftime break with both result and decisions not going their way, referee Mashood Ssali just like the Express players were greeted by boos and insults.
Elven (11) minutes after the restart, substitute Ssenjogera leveled matters after rising high to head in well weighed delivery from Joseph Zziwa on the right.
Three minutes past the hour mark, Goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa made an exceptional save to keep out a goal-bound effort from Kato Nemeyimana from close range.
In the 66th minute, Ssenjogera added his second to complete a comeback for the Red Eagles
The situation got worse for the visitors two minutes later when Marvin Youngman who was fouled by Conrad Ssenjogera retaliated with a slap only to see red.
The result keeps Express in 4th with 22 points while Bright stars too stays in 15th with 9 points level with bottom side Mbale Heroes.
In their next games, Express visit UPDF in Bombo on 7th January while Bright stars host Lugazi in Kavumba on the same day.
Other games on the day, Maroons edge Mbale Heroes 2-1 in Luzira whereas Police attained their 9th draw of the season ending 0-0 with KCCA FC.
