Uganda Premier League
- SC Villa 1-1 Police
UPL defending champions, SC Villa drew their second consecutive with Police at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Friday evening.
With more worries growing in both the fans and Club officials, the Jogoos who were without their Captain Ronald Ssekiganda on the day failed to manage the game.
Just like against Lugazi FC, SC Villa again threw away a 1-0 lead gifting the Cops with a penalty seven (7) minutes to climax, ending it in a one-all draw.
Patrick Jonah Kakande opened scoring for the Jogoos in the 24th minute, converting from the spot which was awarded after Charles Lwanga was pulled down by Matege Reagan.

The Cops too leveled matters through the penalty which were awarded as soon as Cyrus Kibande brought down substitute Gerald Ogwetti in the box right before Brian Obedi converted it in the 83rd minute.

With a number of SC Villa fans wanting Morley Byekwaso to exit the Club, Head Coach came to say;
“I am so disappointed with how we defended in the second half but so happy with how we played in the first where the team created Five chances and scored only one” he started
Adding that; “With a team like Police you can’t last long on 1-0 so we need to blame ourselves but the boys really played well but those are the consequences”
“The boys had the character, this was better than the last one, they played, fought but this is Football anything can happen and they I saw that penalty wasn’t right” he concluded
On other side, Simon Peter Mugerwa just like Byekwaso had immense praise for his charges;
“The boys had a good performance from the start though very unfortunate to fall behind due to that penalty but managed to keep the composure till the last minute” he said
“We wasted a few chances along the way, those that could have helped us win the game but all we shall build on that point, it’s an important one”
On the League table this result leaves SC Villa 7th with 16 points, two behind Police in 5th position.
In their next games, SC Villa will return to action next Friday with a visit to Lugogo for Kampala Derby with KCCA FC while Police FC will host Maroons FC in Kavumba.
