  • NEC 1-0 Mbarara City

SC Villa edged URA FC to end their four game winless run at the Luzira Prisons Ground on Saturday evening.

With heavy boots and outfits during the game due to a rain spree, both teams looked off the mark in the opening half thus ending goal-less.

However this all changed in the second half with midfielder Tonny Ankunda causing a couple problems for the visitors thus assisting the only goal scored by Francis Onekalit.

Coming in two minutes after the hour mark, Ankunda drove the ball from right past Amisi Bagwani to lay the ball across goal for Onekalit at the far post.

It should be noted that the record League Champions were without striker Charles Lwanga who accumulated Yellow cards thus Francis Onekalit clinching a starting place.

This was Jogoos first win in their last five games, brought forward to relieve some pressure off Head coach Morley Byekwaso who had fans citing that he should have been sacked.

The result lifted SC Villa to 7th on 20 points while URA FC remained in 6th with just a point above the Jogoos.

In the other game of the day, Paul Mucureezi crucified his former pay masters to a late 1-0 win that came 8 minutes to the 90 minute mark.
