UPL: Kitara winning momentum continues with away victory over Maroons

Kitara FC grew more in confidence as they ran rampant over Maroons at the Luzira Prison Grounds on Tuesday evening.

After a resounding 6-0 win against Mbale Heroes in the week, this was one to stay in their stride with a commanding 4-0 victory.

Jude Semugabi once again put up a five star performance with brace to his name, other goals coming in from Former Maroons striker Fred Amaku and defender Ronald Otti.

Amaku netted the opener for Kitara just nine minutes into the game from a Solomon Okwalinga’s free kick set up the Former Maroons striker.

A unmarked Otti doubled the visitors lead with another header from a Living Kabon corner kick to put the ball past Simon Tamale in goal.

Two minutes to the half hour mark, Jude Ssemugabi extended Kitara’s lead after two well stringed balls from Lazaro Bwambale and Frank Zaga Tumwesigye to find Semugabi who comfortably pull the ball into the net.

Late in the added time, Semugabi completed his thanks to a great Marvin Nyanzi delivery.

The win takes Bbosa’s Kitara to 10th on the Log with 14 points while Maroons stay 7th on 16 points.

In their next games, Maroons will visit Police FC in Kavumba on Thursday 19th December whereas Kitara will hope to continue their momentum when they host Express FC on Saturday 21st December.

The other day’s game saw Ali Bayo secure a point for Lugazi FC against Mbarara City who had gone in front through Latif Ssenkubuge at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.
