Uganda Premier League
- Maroons 0-0 KCCA
KCCA’s winless run in the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League (UPL) stretched to five games after a 0-0 draw with Maroons at Luzira on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
The draw further dampens the Lugogo-based side’s slim hopes of securing the league title, a feat they last achieved in 2019.
In their first-leg encounter in October 2024, KCCA had thrashed Maroons 5-0, with goals from Ashraf Mugume, Saidi Mayanja, Abu Mayanja, Shafik Kwikiriza, and Sadat Anaku.
However, the team has struggled since the start of the second round, enduring a series of unconvincing performances. Despite a promising start to the season under coach Abdallah Mubiru, KCCA has been unable to maintain their early momentum, dropping points at an alarming rate.
The draw with Maroons marks KCCA’s seventh of the season, adding to their six wins and five losses across 18 games, leaving them with just 25 points.
The Kasasiro Boys are now 15 points behind the joint league leaders, NEC and Vipers, both on 40 points. Their last victory came on December 15, 2024, when they defeated Wakiso Giants 2-1.
Wirh KCCA sitting seventh in the 16-team league, they will be desperate to return to winning ways when they face bottom placed Mbale Heroes at home on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
