Uganda Premier League
- KCCA 1-1 SC Villa
Derby action didn’t disappoint as KCCA FC and SC Villa took a point each after drawing 1-1 at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo on Friday evening.
Both goals came in the second half through Sadat Happy Anaku for the hosts and Patrick Jonah Kakande for the visitors.
The first half rode in barren style but saw some good chances the notable one being that of Ettiene Katenga, a minute to the break.
Katenga clearly shot the ball over the crossbar after he was put through in the left side of the 18 yards box by Anaku after a good drive.
Into the second stanza, Mubezi and Katenga combined on the left a minute after the hour mark to lift the ball onto Anaku’s head who put it past Villa shot stopper Meddy Kibirige.
Five minutes later, Kakande leveled matters with a tap in at the far post thanks to a good paced cross off the right by Former KCCA and on-form Jogoo Charles Lwanga.
The game therefore ended one-all and result meant that SC Villa continue their winless run of 4 straight games but this draw takes them to 7th with 17 points.
For KCCA, they stay in 3rd with 23 points, Five off the table Leaders Vipers who are on 28 points.
In their next games, KCCA will take on Police next year in Kavumba on 2nd January whereas Villa will host URA two days later.
