  • Wakiso Giants 1-2 KCCA

KCCA closed in on the leading pack returning to winning ways with a thin 2-1 victory over Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Sunday.

Emmanuel Anyama netted the all important and debated second-half winner in a closely contested encounter.

KCCA took the game lead in the 14th minute goal all thanks to Etienne Katenga off Sharif Ssengendo’s low cross.

Twelve (12) minutes after, Wakiso Giants leveled matters in the 26th minute through Hudson Mbalire who headed Timothy Oyamo’s lofted cross past KCCA shot stopper Mutwalib Mugolofa.

The real drama surfaced in the 57th minute when Anyama tapped Katenga’s delivery towards goal with Alitho pulling off a fine save but Linesman convincingly indicating a goal.

Without conclusive evidence the referee had no option but to count the goal despite protests from Wakiso players

The result ended KCCA’s four-game winless run, pushing the side to third place 22 points, four behind league leaders NEC.

For Wakiso Giants, they extended winless run to nine games to 14th with 9 points.

In their next games, KCCA will host SC Villa next Friday whereas Wakiso Giants too host Kitara a day before Christmas.
