Established in the early 1980s, the Uganda Tennis Open has evolved into a cornerstone of the national and regional tennis calendar. This year’s edition will feature singles and doubles competitions across three categories: juniors, pro event (seniors 18+), and senior veterans. The tournament will be officiated by Charles Wanyama, an International Tennis Federation (ITF) White Badge Referee, ensuring adherence to international standards.
A total prize purse of UGX 20 million has been announced, offering strong incentives for players competing in the pro categories. Among the standout names confirmed for this year’s event are David Oringa, Frank Tayebwa, Patience Athieno, and Winnie Birungi—some of Uganda’s top-ranked players.
