A repeat of last year’s final sets the stage for this year’s Uganda Rugby Premiership semifinals with defending Champions Platinum Credit Heathens taking on Black Pirates who topped the table leading into the knockouts.
In the quarter final return legs that happened on Saturday, Heathens shared the spoils 10-10 with Victoria Sharks to advance on 51-36 aggregate whilst the ugly scenes at Kings Park Arena overshadowed Pirates’ victory over Walukuba Barbarians.
Following a scuffle that resulted into the referee sending Pirates’ Haruna Mohammed and Walukuba’s Ahmed Ssekyanzi to the sin bin. The Barbarians refused to return to the pitch when play resumed and the Pirates who were already cruising with a 36-06 lead won the tie on a 63-26 aggregate.
At Legends, KOBs came back from 10points down to win 37-36 on aggregate with a last kick of the game against Toyota Buffaloes, securing a spot in the last four. They’ll face Jinja Hippos who eliminated Rhinos on 52-30 across both ties.
The two legged ties will be played on April 26 and May 3.
