The Uganda Premier League end of the season Awards are back.
This was confirmed by the Uganda Premier League Secretariat at a press briefing on Thursday morning at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo.
The headline sponsor for the awards will be Pilsner Lager that has also been sponsoring the Monthly UPL Awards.
The Awards make a return, five years since they were last held in 2016/17 when KCCA striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma won the best player of the season award.
These Awards are organised to reward the best performer of the season.
UPL along with league broadcasting partner StarTimes and Pilsner Lager will recognize and reward players and coaches from 13 categories that have been lined up.
According to the UPL CEO, the winners of those awards will be determined using statistics, a technical panel and selected journalists.
The Player’s player of the Season and Coach’s Player of the Season will be determined by the players and head coaches.
The recipients of the award will receive a plague and a small token of appreciation.
Furthermore, Pilsner Lager is planning to make the recipients the beer company’s brand Ambassadors.
