Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo hosted an exciting double header on matchday 9 as Kitara FC narrowly defeated URA FC 1-0 before Express FC swept aside Calvary FC with a commanding 4-0 victory.
Kitara secured their win through an early penalty converted by Patrick Henry Kaddu after URA FC defender Ronaldo Otti handed in penalty area.
After converting from the spot, Kitara switched to a compact, disciplined defensive setup aimed at protecting their lead.
URA pushed hard through Fred Amaku, Norman Namanya, and Justine Opiro, but Kitara’s disciplined backline held firm. A late chance from Arthur Kiggundu nearly rescued URA, but Kitara managed the game well to claim all three points.

Earlier on the day, Express FC dominated from start to finish. Richard Basangwa opened the scoring in the 25th minute, before Muhamed Kagwa Ssenoga struck twice one from the penalty spot and another from an Onzima assist to make it 3-0 shortly after halftime. Herbert Asiimwe sealed the win with a late brace in the 75th and 78th minutes, completing a 4-0 rout over a struggling Calvary FC.
The results marked a day of contrasting victories Kitara’s narrow tactical triumph and Express’s emphatic attacking showcase.
