Uganda extended their flawless run in the second edition of the Pearl of Africa (POA) T20 Series, securing a dominant 38-run win over Nigeria at the picturesque Entebbe Cricket Oval.

The Cricket Cranes remain the only unbeaten side, topping the table with 8 points from 4 games.

Captain Juma Miyaji, winning his fourth consecutive toss, chose to bat first.

Uganda handed T20I debuts to pacer Calvin Watuwa and medium-fast bowler Innocent Mwebaze.

Watuwa received his cap from Cosmas Kyewuta, while Mwebaze—returning from injury—was presented his by Dinesh Nakrani.

Opener Shrideep Mangela anchored the innings with a composed 51 off 42 balls—his second T20I half-century—striking five boundaries.

Despite losing Robinson Obuya (8) early, Mangela, supported by Raghav Dhawan (22), stabilized the innings.

Uganda’s lower order added crucial runs: wicketkeeper Cyrus Kakuru remained unbeaten on 21 off 22, while Nakrani (10 off 8) and Alpesh Ramjani (13 off 10) chipped in late to post a competitive 147/6.

In response, Nigeria’s chase never gained momentum.

Miyaji (2/19) and Nakrani (3/11) struck early, while Mathew Musinguzi (2/21) maintained pressure through the middle overs.

Debutant Joseph Baguma made an immediate impact with 3/32, claiming key wickets including Peter Aho.

Nigeria’s lone resistance came from Isaac Okpe, unbeaten on 26, and Prosper Useni (17 off 9), but they were eventually bowled out for 109 in 18.1 overs.

Post-match, Miyaji praised the team’s all-round effort.

“Our bowling unit showed class today.

The debutants stepped up, and Mangela’s innings gave us the platform we needed,” he said.

Uganda now lead the standings with 8 points, ahead of UAE (4 points from 3 games), Kenya (2), and Nigeria (0).

Under 22-year-old Miyaji’s composed leadership, the Cricket Cranes aim to carry their winning momentum into the final leg of the round-robin phase, building toward the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier later this year in Zimbabwe.
