Uganda Cricket Cranes secured their first victory at the ongoing second round of the ICC Challenge League B tournament.
This is after they beat Bermuda by 8 wickets on Tuesday at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
Having lost the toss and were tasked to bowl and field first, Uganda easily chased down Bermuda’s 95 all out with 193 balls to spare.
Uganda found solutions for Bermuda’s attack as Frank Akankwasa 2-0, Dinesh Kumar 2-17 and Riazat Ali Shah 2-23 were brilliant with their balls.
Simon Ssesazi was Uganda’s most outstanding player on the day as he used 54 balls to make hit a half century and propel Uganda to it’s first victory in just 17.5 overs. Ronak Patel and Kenneth Waiswa also picked up 19 runs each in Uganda’s comfortable victory.
While Dalin Richardson picked up the most runs for bottom placed Bermuda (15 off 19 balls)
With the victory, Uganda return to the top of league B table with 12 points in 8 games. They will play Italy next on Thursday before finishing their second round with a battle against Kenya on Sunday.
