Uganda Hippos secured their second win of the U20 TotalEnergies AFCON Zonal Qualifiers thanks to 4-1 result against Burundi at the KMC Stadium in Tanzania.

A John Paul Ddembe brace and two own goals from duo Samir Selemani & Ramadhan Hakizimana completed Uganda’s Four goals scoreline while Christophe Ndyeyikengurukiye netted Burundi’s consolation.

The First was an own netted as early as two (2) minutes by Selemani which was later followed by Ddembe’s brace which was four minutes apart.

Ddembe scored in the 18th and 22nd minute to finish the opening half at 3-0 and head into second with a comfortable lead.

Thirteen minutes after restart, Hakizimana with another Own Goal made it Four for the Hippos before Ndyeyikengurukiye netted a consolation and second of the campaign.

This victory takes Uganda to the semifinal and keeps them at the top of Group B going into the last group game with 6 points and goal difference of six (6).

Uganda who have already qualified will now wait to face South Sudan in their last Group match.
