The Touchline Sports website (www.thetouchlinesports.com) has been voted the Best Futsal Website of 2025 by the Futsal Association Uganda (FAU), beating Kawowo Sports, Voice of Bugerere and Rora Media in a highly engaged Twitter poll that captured the attention of Uganda’s growing futsal community.

The online poll, hosted on FAU’s official Twitter page (@Futsal_Uganda_), ran for five days and attracted over 1,200 votes from players, coaches, fans, and futsal stakeholders across the country. Touchline Sports emerged the clear winner, securing 45% of the total votes, outshining other notable platforms such as Futsal Eagles, Futsal News Uganda, and Futsal Unlimited.

Celebrating Digital Excellence in Futsal

The poll was part of FAU’s broader initiative to recognise and promote quality digital media coverage of futsal in Uganda. The Association praised The Touchline Sports for its consistent, timely, and insightful coverage of futsal competitions, including the betPawa Futsal Super League, youth tournaments, and grassroots events.

“This award is fan-driven and well-deserved. Touchline Sports has become the go-to destination for anyone following futsal in Uganda,” said FAU President Hamza Jjunju.

What Sets Touchline Apart

Voters applauded Touchline Sports for the live match reports and accurate league standings, in-depth features on teams and player development, and the tactical insights and expert analysis. The user-friendly website and engaging social media content were also part of what formed the recognition.

Touchline’s editor-in-chief, Jeremiah Mugalu responded to the win, saying:

“This recognition by the fans and FAU is an honour. We are committed to growing with the sport and amplifying the voices and stories within Ugandan futsal.”

Following this achievement, The Touchline Sports plans to launch exclusive interviews with top futsal talent, expand video highlights and matchday previews, and collaborate more closely with FAU and futsal clubs for community engagement.

The platform also hinted at launching a dedicated futsal podcast to deepen its media offering.

FAU noted that this kind of recognition is vital in encouraging media innovation and investment in the sport. With futsal gaining popularity through partnerships like the betPawa Super League sponsorship, digital platforms like Touchline Sports are seen as central to the game’s growth.

The Association also confirmed that the Twitter poll will become an annual tradition, forming part of the build-up to the FAU Futsal Awards, where outstanding individuals and institutions in Ugandan futsal are celebrated.
