Table Tennis: NCS flags off Uganda Hopes to World Hopes week and Challenge Championship in Paraguay

Uganda Table Tennis U11 team, Uganda Hopes are set to take part in the World Hopes week and Challenge Championship in November this year.

Team will consist of two players Anyango Patience and World champion Sir Joseph Sebatindira who will be accompanied by their coaches Alvin Katumba plus female coach Tendo Mary Balyewunya who will also double as Head of Delegation.

The Championship which will start on 6th November and climax on 8th November but before it there will be two training camps stationed in Egypt and Paraguay respectively.

Team will depart the Country on Saturday 26th October 2024 morning for Egypt and will have it’s first three (3) day training camp till 29th then travel to Paraguay for another Five (5) day high training retreat.

This will sharpen the young bodies for the Championship which will officially start on 6th November 2024.

Sir Joseph who is the World U11 Champion and Anyango, a reigning Africa U11 Champion will both hope to clinch a gold medal in the Championship.

In a conversation with the happy young World Champion Sir Joseph he came out to express his gratitude to Uganda Table Tennis Federation and his coach Alvin Katumba;

“I am glad am going to take part in this Championship” he said with smiles

Adding that; “Our coach has prepared us extremely well and we hope to repay his trust and commitment to us”

“The President informed us that we are first going to Egypt to train there before head to Paraguay and this will add more skills to us” Sir Joseph concluded

All the team tickets worth 3,500 USD for each player was facilitated by the ITTF and ATTF for this engagement after efforts by Federation President Robert Jjagwe.
