StarTimes acquires rights to broadcast Emirates FA Cup games

StarTimes Uganda has acquired exclusive rights to broadcast and exploit two prestigious football competitions in all countries, in all languages and on all media platforms across sub-Saharan Africa until 2021.

StarTimes Sports Director Shi Maochu said that,

“This is a significant step for StarTimes. The Emirates FA Cup and the FA Community Shield are among the most competitive national football events and we are really happy to offer them to our subscribers during the Christmas season.”

“We have been building a very solid offer in terms of football for 2020 with national competitions such as Coppa Italia and Bundesliga, as well as European events like UEFA Europa League and Euro 2020. And we will keep looking to acquire new events and bring the best value to our subscribers.”

The 2019/2020 season of the Emirate FA Cup will be broadcast starting from the third round on Saturday, January 4th.

StarTimes will air all the matches on its eight sports channels, as well as on the StarTimes ON App purposely for streaming, live and in HD in all Sub-Saharan Africa.
