StarTimes UPL: URA disband SC Villa to move second

Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club easily beat relegation threatened SC Villa 3-1 to move second on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log.

Said Kyeyune, Steven Mukwala and Ibrahim Dada Juma had the Tax Collectors goals while Ibrahim Sadam Juma got Jogoos consolation from the spot.

Kyeyune broke the deadlock in the 34th minute with his freekick effort deflecting off Gavin Kizito to beat Martin Ssenkooto.

In the opening exchanges, Villa had a couple of chance to get the score sheet but URA goalkeeper James Alitho did brilliant to deny Benson Muhindo and Saddam Masereka.

With his side trailing, Villa coach Petros Koukouras made an offensive change at the break in bringing on experienced Saddam Juma for Davis Sekajja with hope of levelling matters.

But it was URA who instead got the second with Mukwala beating off three of his markers with pace to shot aimlessly past Ssenkooto.

Dada, who came on for Cromwell Rwothomio at hour mark got the Tax Collectors third with three minutes left on the clock before Juma pulled one back for the Jogoos from the spot after Amir Kakomo was fouled in the forbidden area.

At the end of the 90, the game ended 3-1

With the victory, URA move second on the log with 42 points, same with KCCA but with a supreme goal difference.

The loss means Villa stays 12th with 22 points in 22 games. They are two points above the relegation zone.
