The StarTimes Uganda Premier League match day 26 concluded on Sunday evening with two fixtures as URA FC took on UPDF FC in Ndejje, while KCCA FC was at home against Busoga United.
Starting off in Ndejje, URA FC secured a 2-1 victory over UPDF at the Arena of Vision to reclaim their second place on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.
Just before the break, Steven Mukwala broke the deadlock but his goal was cancelled out at the start of the second half by Alex Kitata.
Mukwala netted his second of the game in the 80th minute to restore the lead for the tax collectors and earn them an important three points at home.
URA’s win against UPDF takes them back to second position on the log with 57 points, leapfrogging Vipers who now sit third with a point less. Express sit top with 58 points with four games to go.
In Lugogo , Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC eased past Busoga United with a 3-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
Charles Lwanga, Juma Balinya, and Gift Ali were on target for the Kasasiro Boys on Sunday evening.
Balinya opened the scoring with a well taken free-kick that beat Busoga United goalkeeper Michael Nantamu in the 28th minute before Charles Lwanga doubled KCCA’s lead two minutes later, notching in following a Steven Sserwadda’s delivery.
Just before the break, Ibrahim Ekellot pulled a goal back for Busoga United. But KCCA restored their two goals advantage in the 80th minute after Gift Ali converted from the spot after Abubakar Otwao handed the ball in the area.
With the win, KCCA stay 4th on the log with 45 points in 26 games, while Busoga United occupy the last survival spot on the log as they sit 13th with 26 points, three above the drop zone.
