StarTimes UPL: Ssenyonjo “incredible” as KCCA humiliates already-relegated Kitara, Esseru nets brace as UPDF completes double over Villa.

The StarTimes Uganda Premier league Match day 27 resumed on Friday evening with two fixtures at the selected grounds. Samuel Ssenyonjo stared for his side, KCCA FC as they humiliated already relegated Kitara FC in Masindi while Robert  Esseru netted a brace as landlords UPDF completed a double over their tennants SC Villa in Bombo.

Starting off in the game in Masindi, Ssenyonjo netted a haul to help KCCA come from behind and humiliate Kitara FC 6-2 at the Masindi Municipal Stadium.

With just six minutes on the clock, Ssenyonjo got his first as he headed in a well driven Juma Balinya’s cross to give his side an early lead.

But his early strike was cancelled out in the 25th minutes by Kitara’s Kasoki Vincent before the hosts took the game’s lead just before the halftime thanks to Nathan Oloro strike.

Nine minutes into the second half, youngster Andrew Kawooya restored parity for KCCA with a clinical strike after a wonderful Denis Iguma assist.

Moments later, Ssenyonjo helped KCCA retake their lead with his second of the game before Charles Lwanga extended Kasasiro Boys’ advantage from the spot after a handball offense in the 62rd minute.

Ssenyonjo then netted twice in a space of three minutes to complete his haul with over 20 minutes to the death of the game.

Although KCCA were reduced to ten men in the 75th minute, Kitara failed to utilize on a man’s advantage to suffer an appalling loss at home.

With an incredible win, KCCA cement their fourth spot on the log as they move to 48 points with three games to go.

For Kitara FC who are already relegated, stay bottom on 13 points.

In Bombo, UPDF FC completed a StarTimes Uganda Premier league double over SC Villa after they secured a 2-1 victory over their record UPL champions.

Forward Robert Esseru netted in each half for the Army side while Joseph Nsubuga netted the Jogoos consolation from the spot.

The result means that Villa has lost to UPDF twice in the league this season. Ezekiel Katende scored the only goal of the game in the first round.

UPDF moves to 8th with 37 points while SC Villa drops to 9th with 36 points after 27 games.
