Stylish youngster Titus Ssematimba netted a brace for Wakiso Giants as they prevailed over SC Villa 3-1 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at the Kavumba Recreation Center, Wakiso on Wednesday.
Ssematimba got the game’s opener as early as the 9th minute with an exquisite header off a well delivered Simon Namwajja cross.
Ssematimba was involved in Wakiso Giants second of the game as he linked up with Grant Matsiko who crossed the ball to Moses Aliro who neatly tapped home.
Ssematimba got his second of the game in the 23rd minute, tapping in a well driven Matsiko cross to extend his side’s lead to three goals.
SC Villa’s best attempt in the opening half fell to Kenneth Ssemakula but the defender shot directly to Emmanuel Emukule.
A minute after the introduction of Travis Mutyaba, the Joggos pulled a goal back after the youngster was fouled in the box by Fahad Kawooya.
Umar Lutalo stepped up and had his spotkick saved by Emukule, but he was the first to react to score on the rebound.
Since Douglas Bamweyana left, Wakiso Giants have won all their three StarTimes Uganda Premier League games.
For Villa, they have endured their first defeat of the season, having narrowly won their opening game against Police FC.
In the next games, SC Villa will play Express FC away while Wakiso Giants will host Tooro United
