Charles Musiige came off the bench to head in a leveler and snatch a point for Express FC at the Gaddafi Arena in Jinja as the defending champions post-Wasswa Bbosa struggles continue.

Musiige netted in the 80th minute to level matters for the Red Eagles after Paul Musamali had put the hosts ahead.

Paul Musamali handed the Soldier Boys the lead in the 14th minute with a brilliant free-kick from just outside the box after Seif Baate was fouled by Mahad Yaya Kakooza.

Gaddafi, who were so impressive in the opening half had a chance to double their lead before the break, but Umar Kyeyune hit the post from a spotkick after Richard Basangwa was fouled in the area by Murushid Juuko.

The Red Eagle’s best attempt of the opening half fell to Joseph Akwandanaho, but the forward missed from close range after being set up by George Ssenkaaba.

Gaddafi started the closing half like how they did in the first – Basangwa making a blistering run upfront but Express did brilliant to clear their lines.

After hour mark, Express FC head coach James Odoch made a double change- bringing on Charles Musiige and Raymond Walugembe for Godfrey Lwesibawa and Ssenkaaba respectively.

And Musiige got the Red Eagles equaliser in the 80th minute after he headed home a exquisite Akwandanaho cross.

Both sides tried to win it later on the game, but the two sides settled for a stalemate.

With the point, Gaddafi moves to 26 points in 20 games and stay eighth while Express stay sixth on the log with 31 points.
