StarTimes UPL: Marvin Oshaba in spotlight as Police battles Tooro United

Forward Marvin Oshaba will be in spotlight as Police FC takes on Tooro United at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.

Oshaba played the first round at Tooro United and was their topscorer before he departed for the Cops in January.

He left the Entare zza Tooro having netted four times for the Fort Portal based side.

After the departure of Oshaba to Police, Tooro United signed several players who also former SC Villa players Muhammad Ssenoga and Musa Doka, and the two have provided an instant impact at the club, helping the club garner five points in three games.

The hosts, Police haven’t had the second round go their way as they haven’t won a game since the start of the second round but the Police FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru is optimistic that his team have the quality to get all three points.

“They (Tooro United) on form and playing well,” he said before adding “On the other hand, we have not a won any game in the second round but this is one we must win to improve our fighting chance,” he added.

Tonny Mawejje, the club captain also feels its high time they won a game of football in the league if they are to climb to a better place on the table.

“We need to start winning games and as players, we are all motivated to do so starting with the game on tomorrow” said Mawejje.

“The onus is on us to lift the team high up the table to a respectable position,” he added.

Tooro United who have a five hundred thousand Ugandan Shillings fine (Ugx 500000/=) slapped to them over using unbranded Jerseys, will need refocus on their slim chances of survival by targeting a victory over the cops.

Police are 10th on the log with 18 points while Tooro United FC are rock-bottom with 9 in 18 games

Eric Senjobe is back for Police after missing the opening three games of second round due to his engagement with Team FUNDI which came back from Spain a couple of days ago. Defender Joseph Ssentume is also back from suspension while Missi Semugera will need a late fitness test.

For Isaac Kiberu he is still out due to injury concerns .

Tooro United will be without Ronald Kayondo who picked up his third caution of the season against SC Villa but Isaac Mpagi is set for a return.

Abdul Lukwata and Sulaiman Majanjaro are also in line for their league debuts for Tooro United.
