Eric Kambale and Charles Lwanga were on target as wasteful Express FC shared spoils with KCCA FC in a StarTimes Uganda Premier league game played at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Wednesday evening

It was all Express FC in the first half as KCCA offered little going forward as they spent most of the time trying to stop Express attacks

In the 1st minute of the game, Express were granted an opportunity to break the deadlock but Geoffrey Lwesibawa chested his effort above the crossbar with only the KCCA goalie, Charles Lukwago to beat following Arthur Kiggundu’s exquisite cross from the left.

Express FC continue imposing alot of relentless pressure and got another opportunity to get infront through Arthur Kiggundu but the left back skyed his header above the crossbar in the 5th minute.

In the 18th minute, after George Ssenkaaba was fouled outside the box by Peter Magambo, Lwesibawa pulled his freekick just meters wide while in the 35th minute from Ashraf Mugume’s defensive howler, Kabaale was gifted a glorious opportunity to put the Red Eagles ahead. He rounded off Lukwago and shot goal-wise but Magambo’s raced back to line to clear the ball

Just before the halftime break, Express got an opener through Eric Kambale following a Lwesibawa freekick from the right after Ssenkaaba was fouled by Albert Achai.

At the beginning of the second half, Express FC head coach introduced on Mahad Yaya Kakooza and Muzamir Mutyaba for Charles Musige and Daniel Shaben a trying to extend his side’s lead.

Ssenkaaba wasted a chance to double Express’s lead just after the break when he received a pass from Kabaale, fantastically dribbled past Magambo but his low shot drove just away from the goal.

Seven minutes, it was Express FC once again with another clear chance to double their scoreline through Lwesibawa but the forward bulleted his shot into the crossbar.

KCCA first goalscoring chance of the game came at the half hour mark when their topscorer, Brian Aheebwa volleyed his effort past Mathias Muwagga but his effort agonizingly kissed the crossbar and went above.

Lwesibawa once again failed to find the back of the net in the 66th minute when he headed wide after he was wonderful set-up by Kabaale.

Express FC continued to create chances so as to find their second of the game but Substitute Frank Kalanda was unlucky not to find the back of net after he was well put through on goal by classic Kambale. Kalanda nailed his effort over the bar.

With three minutes to the death of the game, KCCA got an undeserving equaliser after a cornerkick by Musana Musana from the right flank. The wingback drove in his cross and was met by the onrushing Charles Lwanga to put it past Muwanga for KCCA’s leveller.

The game last chance of the game fell to the home side, Express when Abel Eturude’s hard shot from outside the box was well defended away by Achai for a cornerkick.
