Former SC Villa forward Charles Lwanga came off the bench to net the lone goal for Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC ) as they defeated SC Villa 1-0  at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday.

The Kasasiro Boys had a better start to game , dominating procession in the first 30 minutes but SC Villa grew into the game and fashioned the best chance before the break.

Charles Lukwago made a smart save to deny Francis Olaki, while Nicholas Kabonge missed from close range at the back post as the sides went in all square at the break.

KCCA’s only goal scoring chance in the opening half came in 12th minute when Saidi Keni gifted them an indirect freekick but Julius Poloto wasted that rare brilliant chance to put his side ahead.

At the start of the second half, KCCA Manager Morley Byekwaso bought on Steven Sserwada for Hassan Jurua while Abdullah Salim was introduced on for Emmanuel Wasswa for SC Villa.

Further changes were made by Byekwaso in the 62nd minute, bringing on former SC Villa player Charles Lwanga and Samson Kizito for Sam Ssenyonjo and Julius Poloto, and Lwanga made an instinct impact as he broke the deadlock ten minutes afterwards.

Lwanga received the ball from Filbert Obenchan, drove it at immense speed then just before he entered the box, he struck it into the bottom right corner past Keni for his side’s lone goal of the game.

Lukwago was KCCA’s hero late on when he excellently saved Salim’s volley from point-blank range

After losing their last league game away to URA FC,  the Kasasiro Boys have now returned to winning ways and now move to 33 points garnered in 18 games while SC Villa stay 6th on the log with 29 points.

With the win, KCCA have garnered their first win against their fellow top 4 rivals ( Vipers , URA and Express ), having failed to get a better of their rivals on their previous five attempts this season.
